Seven Counties Services Awarded $5 Million SAMHSA Grant

Seven Counties Services announced today it is the recipient of a two-year, $5 million grant from Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) to expand mental health and substance use services to adults with serious mental illness, children/adolescents with serious emotional disturbance, and individuals with co-occurring disorders.

The expansion will enable Seven Counties Services to serve at least 1,000 additional individuals over the funding period with comprehensive, trauma-informed, evidence-based mental health and substance use services.

We’re almost through July, and it’s hard to believe many kids will be returning to the classroom full time and in person in just a few weeks. Children have endured so much change and uncertainty during the pandemic and we know their symptoms may just now show up as they transition back to more structure and normalcy at school. They’ve also greatly missed some important people in their support network – their peers and their teachers. I’m thankful our school-based counselors will be there to greet them and provide help.
