I hope that each of you has had a positive start to 2021 and that you are staying well. Though the holidays looked different last month for many of our clients, you helped put a sparkle in their eyes through your generosity of food, gifts, notes of encouragement, and prayers. Thank you for pouring out your hearts to ensure they had a bright spot in their holidays despite all the challenges they were experiencing.
Our focus as an organization has now immediately turned to vaccinating our employees. Much of our workforce consists of frontline healthcare workers, so the COVID-19 vaccine is mission critical to our continuing to support the community with services and returning to some sense of normalcy in our operations. Through a partnership with UL, we have offered the vaccine to all our employees at Seven Counties Services / Bellewood & Brooklawn. In fact, round one of the vaccine has taken place already and many employees will soon receive round two in February.
With COVID-19 vaccines now being administered and communities starting to come out of isolation, we expect there will be an increased need for all of our services. Our Board of Directors and staff are beginning the important work of strategic planning and I think this is just what the doctor ordered to help our team members have hope for the future again. Our neighbors, families, children, and community leaders need Seven Counties Services / Bellewood & Brooklawn to be stronger than ever. Our strategic plan will focus on a system of care that supports children and families as they face life’s most difficult challenges and the integration of physical health and behavioral health. In terms of achievement, we’re also very focused on providing a solid future and a fulfilling work environment that attracts and retains the best and brightest employees while re-establishing a commitment to our community and our state.
Here’s to a better year than the one we left. I am so hopeful that things will turn in a positive direction this year for the communities we live and work in and for our country. Every day is a fresh start and every sunrise is a new chapter. Thank you for continuing to support the important work we do for our community’s most vulnerable adults, children, and families. Through your support, you are a lifeline to our clients who need hope for better days more than anything else.
