At Seven Counties Services, our addictions team has been preparing for nearly a year to obtain an American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) Certification from the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities. This certification shows that a detoxification and residential treatment program maintains a high level of care and demonstrates the capacity of our programs to provide residential addiction treatment consistent with their criteria.
At this time, all residential addiction treatment facilities have a deadline to obtain an ASAM Level of Care Certification, although the deadline has been extended due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, our team decided to go ahead and pursue completing the certification early as we saw the immense value these standards bring to the addiction treatment we provide in the communities we serve.
“This certification is extremely meaningful to our addictions program as it allows our clients to receive the appropriate level of care based on their individualized treatment needs as they proceed through the recovery process. Every client should be able to come to our treatment facilities knowing that we strive to provide only the highest quality substance abuse treatment,” said Marty Purdy, Vice President of Addiction Services, Seven Counties Services.
Along with our certification, ASAM laid out a foundation for our addictions team to constantly work on improving the quality of care we deliver to our clients. Currently, Seven Counties Services is the first and only Community Mental Health Center in Kentucky to complete all three ASAM Level of Care Certifications.
